1st Timothy 1:7
They presume to be expert teachers of the law, but they don’t have the slightest idea of what they are talking about and they simply love to argue.
Hi, fellow sojourners,
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎉 I’m so excited to connect with you all again. How’s the start of 2025 treating you? In the spirit of new beginnings, I’ll keep this short and sweet.
Earlier today, during my study time, I felt an urge to write on a few topics. Some of them felt exciting—you know, the kind of insights that make you think, “This is deep. Could be a hit blog post!” But each time I sat down to write, I didn’t feel that release from the Holy Spirit. (Feels like he was doing a motive check, haha.)
So I continued to jot my thoughts in my journal and kept enjoying being in God’s presence. After a while, I came across this verse from 1 Timothy 1:7: “They presume to be expert teachers of the law, but they don’t have the slightest idea of what they are talking about, and they simply love to argue.”
And just like that, it clicked. I felt a release to write, so, here I am. The message is simple: It’s okay to have nothing to say.
Have you ever been in a room where you felt you had to say something by all means? Picture this: You’re in a Bible study group and everyone’s dropping their insights and there’s you, sitting in your corner, feeling clueless. You’re tempted to say something—anything—just so people know you’re in the loop. Been there?
It’s not just in casual settings. Even in godly conversations, the urge to contribute can make us say things we barely understand or, worse, things that aren’t true. Paul’s letter to Timothy reminds us to steer clear of meaningless chatter. Well, this is a reminder to stay in your lane and speak only when led by God. Being knowledgeable isn’t a bad thing—far from it! But we should be careful not to force it. Proverbs 10:19 warns that too much talk leads to sin.
Honestly, sometimes, the best thing you can do is listen. Remember the bible says even the foolish when quiet is thought wise. (Proverbs 17:28) How befitting!
Remember also what Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 10:19-20? “When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
The Holy Spirit is our guide. As we grow in our relationship with Him, we’ll learn to discern when to speak and when to stay quiet. When God wants you to speak, He’ll provide the words.
It’s easier to carry out your assignment when you’re not striving to impress anyone but God. So, if you’ve got nothing to say, that’s okay. Don’t feel pressured to fill the silence. Remember, When You’ve Got Nothing, That’s Something.
Well, this is all I have got for now and I know if you don’t hear from me in a while, you'd understand why. But really, it’s not about me; Fellow sojourner, What is God telling you NOT to say?

This is good!!!
“When you’ve got nothing to say, that’s something “
"When You've Got Nothing, That's Something".
Thanks for this great insight.
We don't have to be pressured to talk by all means just to prove a point.
Great submission! It really is better to be thought wise because we don’t talk excessively. God bless you dear! Keep it up!
Word in season!!!
Thank you girl I needed this especially on this new phase. God bless you beautiful, “when you have nothing to say, say nothing”!!!
